Juve dominated possession with 64 per cent and created nine chances to Casablanca’s 13.

The Italian side took the lead in under six minutes thanks to an own goal by Abdelmounaim Boutouil, whose block on Kenan Yildiz’s cross guided it past his own keeper.

Juventus doubled their lead just ten minutes later when Yildiz blasted a half-volley into the top-right corner from just outside the box after Andrea Cambiaso dribbled past three players to deliver him the ball.

Casablanca halved the deficit in the 25th minute when Thembinkosi Lorch chipped Michele Di Gregoria after being played in on goal by a fine through ball from Nordin Amrabat.

In the 57th minute, Cambiaso went close to getting on the scoresheet, but his side-foot volley hit the post.

After the break, Yildiz had his brace and restored Juve’s buffer in the 69th minute when he cut inside his marker and calmly shot low into the far post. Randal Kolo Muani started the move by playing Yildiz through, splitting two defenders.

Dusan Vlahovic sealed the win in added time thanks to a penalty awarded for a foul by Guilherme Oliviera. Despite the keeper choosing the correct side, Vlahovic’s low penalty couldn’t be stopped.

Juventus are currently top of Group G but can be caught up to by Manchester City, who play their second match today at 11 a.m. (AEST) against Al-Ain.
