BRISBANE - Leading the group was Elena Bertocco, an art historian with extensive experience having worked in England, Canberra and now Brisbane. A graduate in Art History, Bertocco is known for her engaging and accessible approach, which transforms every guided tour into a lively and stimulating experience.

“My passion for art comes from the joy of discovering, learning and sharing its universal language,” she shared, “Leading art tours is deeply enriching for me.”

Bertocco guided the group with clarity and depth, sharing her enthusiasm for contemporary art and helping participants uncover hidden details and the meaning within the works.

Through her explanations, visitors were able to discover the wonder found in both the ordinary and the extraordinary, exploring iconic works such as Heard by Nick Cave, In Bed by Ron Mueck and the interactive installation The Obliteration Room by Yayoi Kusama.

It was much more than just a museum visit; it was a genuine moment of collective discovery and connection, an opportunity to come together, learn and feel part of a curious and passionate community.

After the tour, the group continued the day with a friendly “aperi-lunch”, further strengthening the sense of belonging and friendship that marked the entire event. The organisers extend a heartfelt thank you to all who attended and helped make the occasion unique and special.

The enthusiasm and participation clearly demonstrate the strong desire to experience culture in the Italian language, even in Brisbane, which is a very encouraging sign for future events dedicated to art and our community.
