Those arrested have been charged with drugs trafficking and distribution and illegal weapons possession.
Police said the organisation, dubbed ‘The Firm’, had reached a deal on distributing millions of euros a year in drugs, mostly cocaine, in the Foggia area.
Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi hailed the police operation as showing a “strong response by the State”.
Puglia Governor Michele Emiliano said, “we have shown that the State is present in the area”.
