Gielnik, who has made 54 appearances and scored 11 goals for The Matildas – Australian football’s national women’s team - was a guest at Club Marconi.
She chatted with the young Marconi players and shared some of her professional knowledge during their training session on the club’s synthetic pitch.
Gielnik, 32, made her debut with the Brisbane Roar (83 appearances with 30 goals) before going on to play for several clubs, including Liverpool and Aston Villa in England and Bayern Munich in Germany.
She currently plays for the Melbourne Victory in the A-League. During her career, Gielnik has played 212 games, scoring an impressive 79 goals.
Unfortunately, a recent injury ruled her out of The Matildas’ upcoming Paris Olympics campaign.
Gielnik kindly made the day the young girls from the youth teams by signing autographs, posing for photos and answering the many questions her young admirers asked.
