“Agriculture is at the frontier of one of the most important challenges we are facing: climate change, food security issues, difficulties in water supply; in short, the issue of sustainability,” Mattarella said.
He was speaking at an event in Cesena marking the 40th anniversary of Macfrut, a leading trade fair for professionals operating in the national and international fruit and vegetables sector.
The Head of State also pointed out the “indissoluble” link between agriculture, the economy, business and culture.
“These are aspects that cannot be separated, they must always be kept together, as this region does and as Italy does,” he added.
