The woman was raped, beaten and robbed last Sunday night.
A passerby came to the victim's aid on Viale delle Terme di Traiano, and she was hospitalised at San Giovanni Hospital with face injuries.
The woman reportedly has no memory of the rape, and only remembers being punched in the face and robbed in the Colle Oppio park, just steps away from the Colosseum.
Earlier reports indicate that she'd gone dancing near the city's Termini central rail station, and had been seen leaving the club with the man who later turned on her.
