It was always going to be a challenge against a side that is desperate for points, and the Avengers had it all to do when Katebian received a red card in the 42nd minute.
Moreland City received a red card in the second minute of injury time to make it ten men each before Cuba scored in the 3rd minute of injury time to give the Avengers the lead going into the break.
The score stayed the same by the end of the game, with neither side able to score during the 10 vs 10 half.
Avondale FC move to equal second on the ladder, two points behind South Melbourne.
The next round is shaping up to be an important one in the context of the ladder, as the top four all play each other.
