She’s putting together another women’s choir and is calling on females of any age and background, whether professional singers or amateurs.
The choir will participate in the show Emma, which has already been performed in various Australian cities with great success.
The show will come to Melbourne for the first time in February and March 1996, showing at the Malthouse Theatre Complex.
Emma is the moving story of Emma Ciccotosto, who migrated to Australia at a very young age during World War II and faced racism and other wartime struggles.
In the show, Mazzella’s choir will celebrate the strength, resilience and determination of migrant women.
Emma will show from February 20 to March 8, but the choir will have to come together soon for rehearsals.
The first meeting is scheduled for Saturday, October 14, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, at the Malthouse Theatre Complex, 113 Sturt Street, South Melbourne.
Women interested in participating are invited to call Tanya on 9685 5100.
