NAPLES - Transportation, healthcare, security: the Campania Region is making preparations ahead of the celebrations expected in the city of Naples should Napoli clinch the Serie A title this Sunday.
Napoli Director General Ciro Verdoliva unveiled the plan to strengthen the local health care system, which will also rely on the activation of a special radio network that will be used for any communications during the event. Due to the large turnout expected, telephone lines could become overloaded.
All emergency rooms in the territory will be “on alert” with increased staffing on duty, while first aid points whose presence will be signalled by beacons vertically projecting a red light, will be placed strategically throughout the city.
These points will have doctors, nurses, regional civil defence volunteers and security guards.
Finally, in addition to an increase in medical transport vehicles (40 ambulances, eight medical motorcycles, two golf cars), there will also be 65 pairs of medical professionals on foot, consisting of a doctor and a nurse.
