A long-time target of Milan manager Stefano Pioli, the 24-year-old right winger, who has 28 caps and four goals for his country, will have a medical and sign a €20 million deal on Wednesday, they said.
AC Milan are currently in the United States, where they’ve just played an exhibition 2-3 loss to Real Madrid in Los Angeles, however the Nigerian international won’t be joining his new teammates there, due to the bureaucratic delays of obtaining a visa.
He will instead meet up with them in early August upon their return from the States.
According to Milanpress.it, Chukwueze, popular for his bullish determination and direct dribbling, will be working at Milanello in the coming days once the medical and fitness tests have been passed successfully and the signing of the contract is done.
Roma, meanwhile are reportedly eyeing 24-year-old West Ham and Italy striker Gianluca Scamacca, with Atletico Madrid and Spain forward Alvaro Morata a possible second choice, Giallorossi sources said.
Speaking to Italian news outlet Cronache di Spogliatoio, via FCInterNews, Scamacca backed himself to be a success at any club he joins. He’s also been linked to Inter Milan.
West Ham signed the exciting youngster last northern hemisphere summer, however due to a range of factors, including injuries, the Italian has struggled to establish himself as their first-choice striker and is yet to make a noticeable impact at the inner east London club.
“A lot of people continue to see me as a talent that’s yet to express itself,” the Hammers striker reflected.
“I know that, 100 per cent, whoever signs me is going to be getting a deal.”
“I think I just need to be in the right place at the right time,” Scamacca added.
The striker admitted that he’s his own biggest critic.
“I’m very hard on myself, very demanding,” he told Cronache di Spogliatoio.
“That’s been the case ever since I used to play on the street in my neighbourhood in Rome,” he said.
