Como’s Patrick Cutrone broke the deadlock just before the break with a deflected shot that looped over the unlucky Lorenzo Montipo in the Verona goal.
Darko Lazović made it 1-1 early in the second half with a penalty awarded retroactively by VAR for a foul.
Verona went down to 10 men when Tomáš Suslov received a second yellow after an aggressive challenge on Alieu Fadera.

Andrea Belotti sealed the points for Como in the 89th minute with a finish from point-blank range after the ball was squared to him by the head of Luca Mazzitelli.
Mathis Lambourde got a consolation goal for the visitors with a deflected shot in stoppage time, but it proved to be no more than that as Como move up to 10th on the table. Verona are two points behind in 14th.
