Their deaths were allegedly due to far-left militants on a street in Rome where the headquarters of the then neoFascist Italian Social Movement (MSI) was located, police sources said Monday.

Two of the youths, aged 13 and 17, were shot dead allegedly by the leftist militants who were never apprehended while the third, aged 19, was killed by a stray bullet in ensuing riots with police.

DIGOS said it will send a report to the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Rome concerning the commemoration of the events in front of the former MSI headquarters on Via Acca Larentia.

The file will reconstruct what happened during the event where the salutes were made.

The event was attended by hundreds of people, but not by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s Bothers of Italy (FdI) party, an heir to the MSI, which had organised two alternative events, according to FdI.

The report will be made available to the magistrates who will have to assess the formal opening of an investigation file.
