“I can see that the feelings and situations I am experiencing are similar to 2006.
“The adrenalin has risen because I want to make my small contribution.
“‘In my opinion this national team is probably underestimated.
“But it is very competitive, first and foremost because of the human depth of the guys that make up the squad.
“They have a great sense of belonging to the national team.”
Reigning European champions Italy start their Euro 2024 campaign against Group B rivals Albania on Saturday.
