An initiative of the current Liberal-National NSW government, the ‘Cost of Living’ service helps residents of the state to access more than 40 rebates and savings from around 12 different governmental bodies.

The service can be accessed online, or at various Service Centres across NSW.

Residents and households have the possibility of saving on average around $550.

Vehicle owners can save on the cost of CTP Green Slips in the compulsory third party (CTP) insurance scheme, while the rebate Active Kids provides a $100 voucher to use on sport and fitness costs for active children.

There’s also free vehicle registration for frequent users of toll roads, among other offers.

The service was launched in August by Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Minister for Finance, Services and Property Victor Dominello, whose paternal grandparents migrated from Calabria before World War II.

Minister Dominello and Minister for Multiculturalism Ray Williams recently hosted a conference at NSW Parliament with the multicultural medias to ensure that all communities were informed about the service.

“The Cost of Living Service has been extremely successful, with over 90 per cent of people who attend an appointment walking away with extra money in their pocket,” Dominello said.

“This initiative really does take Service NSW to the next level.

“No longer is it just a one-stop shop for transactions and licences, now it’s also a one-stop shop for household savings.”

“Residents can access the Cost of Living service by contacting Service NSW,” Minister Williams said.

“The service is also available via the telephonic National Translating and Interpreting Service, which can be accessed by calling 131 450, or if calling via Service NSW, on 13 77 88.

“By the end of October Service NSW will have rolled out the Cost of Living service across more than 60 centres of assistance in NSW, making it easier for families and individuals to potentially save hundreds of dollars.”
