The new cases bring Victoria’s tally to 1523.

Three of the new cases were from the Cedar Meats Australia abattoir, three were household contacts (two from Fawkner McDonald’s workers) and three were in overseas return travellers.

“I am concerned about any positives that are occurring,” Victoria’s Chief Health Officer Dr Brett Sutton told 3AW this morning.

“But in the sense that they’re not unknown community transmissions it is absolutely re-assuring in a sense.”

Fawkner McDonald’s has now reported eight cases, while the Cedar Meats Australia cluster involves 90 cases.

Dr Sutton said there was no know link between the two clusters.

It comes as Cedar Meats Australia has announced it will reopen part of its facility on Monday with the advice and support of the state’s health department.
