The home side had 55 per cent possession and created six chances to Bologna’s eight.

Atalanta went ahead in the 28th minute when Ademola Lookman scored from point-blank range after Bologna keeper Lukasz Skorupski spilled a shot right in front of him.

Joshua Zirkzee equalised in the 57th minute with a penalty awarded for a clumsy foul on Alexis Saelemaekers.

Lewis Ferguson put Bologna ahead just four minutes later with a low volley into the far post from the edge of the ‘D’.

Bologna sit fourth on the table, five points above Atalanta in sixth.
