The book, Pope Leo XIV, A Tale Of The New Pope And The Challenges He Will Have to Face, is by Vaticanist Saverio Gaeta and is being published by Salani Editore.

It highlights the ‘pope of globalisation’, who intertwines different cultural roots and clearly speaks the language of current events, an international pastor, attentive to the poor and the worst off, tireless in defending human rights and supporting the unifying role of faith, who presented himself to the world with simple and powerful words, “Peace to all of you”.

From the white smoke of May 8 to the first gestures of the new Pope, the volume outlines a clear and documented profile of former Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, the first North American in history to be elected to the papal throne.

The author, with an accessible and pacy style, offers the reader the story of the origins and choices of Pope Francis’s successor, but above all the careful analysis of the upcoming, difficult challenges that he will have to face not only as leader of the Church but also as a “political” leader, in an increasingly complex international context.

“Leo XIV is the incarnation of the charisma of the Augustinian Order to which he belongs, which is based on the combination of charity and knowledge,” explains Gaeta.

“These are exciting days for everyone and for us publishers experiencing the arrival of a new Pope also means putting ourselves at the service of the public, who want to know who the new religious figure chosen to head the Catholic Church is,” says Mariagrazia Mazzitelli, editorial director of Salani editore.

“Once again the Salani publishing house, as had already happened with Pope Bergoglio (Francis) in March 2013, has supported the expertise of an experienced Vatican expert like Saverio Gaeta.”

In addition to bookstores, the book will also be released on newsstands as a supplement to Corriere della Sera, La Gazzetta dello Sport and Oggi.
