It was the away side who took the lead in the 14th minute thanks to a superb volley from 30 yards out by Milan Badelj.
The ball found its way to the Croatian who took one touch to lift the ball up, before striking it perfectly and sending it straight into the top-right corner.
The home side drew level in the 29th minute after Genoa’s Mattia Bani was shown a straight red card for stepping on Gennaro Borrelli’s ankle.
Luca Mazzitelli punished the foul with a freekick that beat both the wall and the goalkeeper from 20 yards out.
Daniel Boloca gave the hosts the lead just before the break when he struck Matteo Cotali’s cutback with his first touch before it deflected off a defender and went in.
Frosinone sealed the match with 13 minutes remaining when Borrelli finished Marcus Rohden’s low cross from close range.
Albert Gudmundsson gave the visitors some hope in the 92nd minute when Filip Jagiello’s shot was blocked, but only into the path of Gudmundsson who took and touch and shot on the turn.
The win puts Frosinone six points above Genoa with only one match remaining.
