Goal: Coda 36' (1-0)

The home side was dominant and thoroughly deserved the victory, creating 11 chances to Reggina’s measly two.

Genoa’s goal came in the 36th minute when Stefano Sturaro’s pass found Massimo Coda inside the box.

Coda, from an angle, shot the ball hard and low through the legs of Gagliolo and across the keeper into the bottom left hand corner of the net.

Soon after, Coda should have had a brace after he sprayed Gudmundsson’s cut-back wide.

Coda then turned provider for Badelj with a square pass in the box.

From eight yards out, Badelj was only able to hit it right into the path of Colombi.

It was more of the same in the second half, with Genoa wasting a host of chances.

Luigi Canotto should have hit the target from seven yards out, instead missing everything.

Reggina finally created a meaningful chance through Hernani, whose shot was met with an excellent diving save from Martinez.

With tensions running high, a scuffle broke out and Stefano Sturaro was given a red card, however he was on the bench at this point so Genoa did not lose a player.

Reggina went close to equalising again through Canotto who almost chipped the keeper, but Martinez just managed to get a hand to it in what was another impressive save.

Genoa are now four points behind Frosinone with seven games to go.
