Jagiello went close early on through a perfectly placed freekick, but Furlan managed to get his hand into the top corner to see it out.
Massimo Coda got on the end of a nice passing sequence that saw him through on goal, only to be denied again by the Perugia keeper.
The breakthrough came four minutes before the break as Frendrup’s header from a Sabelli cross went into the far post.
It was more of the same in the second half, as Coda’s left foot effort was matched by Furlan who got low.
The Perugia keeper was singlehandedly keeping them in the game, this time thanks to a great save low to his right from a ferocious Strootman shot.
The sealer came in the 69th minute from a corner, with Radu Dragusin’s header too much for even the inform Furlan to handle.
Genoa play against Frosinone on matchday 37, so they will be hoping the leaders drop points before then.
