The ICCI has connected Melbourne Fashion Week with sister city Milan to put together a display of Italian ingenuity and flair.
This year’s Melbourne Fashion Week, which runs from November 15 to November 21, includes a packed program intended to celebrate the city’s designers, retailers and creatives through a fresh approach.
Attendees of the ICCI’s Italian Haute Couture event will observe pieces on the runway from bespoke brand Atelier Milano.
Talented Italian designer, Pierina D’Angelica, is the creative force behind Atelier Milano, which made its global debut at the 2019 World Fashion Festival in Dubai, and later at Milan Fashion Week in the same year.
D’Angelica has a background in Fashion and Fine Arts, along with 35 years of experience in the fashion industry.
She pushes the boundaries of materials, striving toward the integrity of texture, colour and hand-sewing techniques.
Today, Atelier Milano has stores in both Milan and Adelaide, and D’Angelica sources her fabrics from Italian mills, with sustainability the key-focus aspect of the brand’s practise.
At the event, guests will be treated to a delicious Italian gourmet food and beverage selection, along with music and entertainment.
To accommodate as many guests as possible, in line with Victoria’s Roadmap, the event has been split into two dates, and organisers advise that attendees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have a valid medical exemption.
The runway event will take place on Thursday, November 18, and Friday, November 19, from 6.30 pm to 8.00 pm, at Lygon Court, Carlton.
