Injured party denies firing gun in Pozzolo case

Luca Campana, the man inured by a bullet during a New Year’s Eve party in Rosazza, in the Piemonte province of Biella, told prosecutors Thursday he had not been holding the weapon at the time the shot went off.

Campana thigh was grazed by a shot fired from a gun belonging to Brothers of Italy (FdI) lawmaker Emanuele Pozzolo.

The alleged victim also reportedly filed a formal complaint with the public prosecutor’s office, paving the way for investigators to press charges of bodily harm.

The 31-year-old specialised electrician and son-in-law of a member of the security detail of FdI Justice Undersecretary Andrea Delmastro, who attended the party, appeared in the Biella prosecutor’s office as the injured party together with his lawyer Marco Romanello.
