Campobasso natives Anna and Felice Colaniro welcomed their three daughters at Thyne Memorial Hospital on June 29.
The doctors and nurses at the hospital are proud to have brought the three happy and healthy babies into this world.
It is the first time triplets have been born in Millicent.
However, it is the second time in recent years that the Italian community in South Australia has celebrated the arrival of triplets; on December 1, 1959, Adelaide woman Mrs Camerlengo gave birth to triplets Lina, Anna and Rosa Maria.
Mrs Camerlengo has passed on her congratulations to the couple and offered them the pram that she used to transport her three babies.
Having migrated to Australia in 1956, Mr and Mrs Colaniro are first time parents.
Mrs Colaniro had suffered from three miscarriages previously, and the couple had almost lost hope of having children.
The eldest of the triplets has been named Maria after their maternal grandmother, while the other two names are still being decided.
