As is the case, every year, parents, grandparents and friends flocked to the children's concert. They performed, dancing and singing a repertoire of hit songs, spanning all musical genres.

Among the songs most appreciated by the audience were ‘Ciao Mamma’ and ‘Ragazzo fortunato’, two timeless pieces by Jovanotti, and some traditional Italian nursery rhymes and children's songs.

Teacher Laura Bava, who also participated in this year's edition, managed to get her students to sing an original piece for which she wrote the lyrics, ‘Cheeky Pinocchio’, set to music by her colleague Majella Burns, confirming that Italian Day at St Damien's school is truly an event that involves everyone.

The performances were greeted by a roar of applause from the enthusiastic audience and there was no shortage of bright eyes from excited parents and proud teachers.
