On Tuesday the Italian Senate gave the definitive green light to the government's second package of aid to help families and firms cope with soaring fuel and energy prices.
The package, worth 17 billion euro, comes on top of 35 billion euro already allocated this year to soften the blow of the cost-of-living crisis.
It was approved with 178 votes in favour, none against and 13 abstentions.
Outgoing Premier Mario Draghi's cabinet on Friday approved a third package of aid, worth around 14 billion euro.
The third package includes a one-off payment of 150 euro for people earning less than 20,000 euro a year.
Draghi told a news conference that 22 million people would benefit.
