They won the gold medal game 8-5 for their first Olympic medal in the sport.
Amos Mosaner and Stefania Constantini won all their nine round robin games and then beat Sweden to reach the gold medal game against Kristin Skaslien and Magnus Nedregotten.
Sweden beat Britain 9-3 earlier for the bronze medal in a matchup of longtime curling powerhouses.
Norway is also a regular on the Olympic podium, earning five medals in the seven Winter Games since the sport returned to the program in 1998.
The mixed doubles also marked Australia’s Olympic debut in the sport and it proved a tumultuous campaign for Tahli Gill and Dean Hewitt.
Gill originally contracted COVID-19 before the Olympics, but she was able to compete as scheduled.
The Australians lost their first seven round robin games and then Gill returned another positive test.
But they gained a reprieve and then won their last games against Canada, the defending Olympic champions, and Switzerland.
Australia finished last with a 2-7 record.
