The bridge is located above Val Tartano and unites the two peaks at a height of 1034 meters between the Lombard towns of Sondrio and Morbegno.

The structure is 234 meters long and is located at an altitude of 140 meters.

It cost €750,000 to build.

Now, locals will be able to check on pastures and access other villages easily, instead of having to cross the entire valley by land.

Residents will be charged a fee each time they cross the bridge as a way to fund construction costs.

The bridge will also be a major tourist attraction, giving people the chance to soak up the natual beauty of the area, including the surrounding mountains, rivers and lakes, for the price of €5 per person.
