Europe’s UEFA and South America’s CONMEBOL, the two continental governing bodies, announced the fixture on Wednesday but didn’t specify a venue in London, although Wembley Stadium is understood to be the preferred venue.

The late Argentina great had his most famous club seasons at Napoli.
UEFA and CONMEBOL are building closer ties as they have teamed up to oppose FIFA’s push to stage the men’s World Cup every two years, instead of every four years.
They have opened an office together in London, to be formally inaugurated early in the new year.
Their formal working agreement, first signed nearly two years ago, has now been extended through June 2028.
