An avid Juventus supporter, Kelvin Liu was among more than 1500 people hurt in the mass stampede in the northern city of Turin, where fans had gathered in Piazza San Carlo to watch the Champions League final against Real Madrid.
Kelvin suffered serious head and chest injuries during the incident and spent most of last week in intensive care.
"When will you come to visit me?" Kelvin asked Dybala when he received the call from the Argentine soccer star.
"You must give me advice on how I can become good like you," the boy, who was born in Italy to Chinese parents, said.
A representative from the Italian champions delivered a Dybala shirt that the star had given to the boy, who plays for a local amateur club.
One of the first things little Kelvin asked when he came out of an induced coma was when he would be able to play soccer again.
Kelvin's parents told local media that he would be able to leave hospital within days.
