Inter had 72 per cent of the ball and created seven chances, only two of which were on target. La Viola created eight with six on target.

After a goalless first half which saw Inter’s Carlos Augusto’s goal chalked off by VAR for offside, Fiorentina took the lead in the 59th minute through Lucas Ranieri.

Ranieri attacked a corner taken by Rolando Mandragora and side-foot volleyed it into the bottom corner.

Moise Kean doubled their advantage nine minutes later with a header into the near post.

Kean scored his second in the 89th and sealed the points for Fiorentina after a howler of a turnover from Inter’s Federico Dimarco put him through on goal.

The Tuscan club are now in fourth place and are pushing for a Champions League spot.

Inter are second, three points behind leaders Napoli.
