The Sicilians had 60 per cent of the ball and created 15 chances to the visitors’ seven.
It was Sudtirol who scored first when Riccardo Ciervo beat the keeper with a stunning curling shot from 30 yards out in the 38th minute.
Three minutes after the break saw Palermo equalise through Pietro Ceccaroni, who finished Leonardo Mancuso’s square ball from close range.
Palermo got the winner in the 89th minute when Giuseppe Aurelio did well to find space in the box and head in a dangerous cross from Liam Henderson.
The Sicilian club is second on the table, four points behind Parma but with a game in hand.
