Gratteri continues to lead the fight against Italy’s most powerful organised crime group, the Calabria-based ‘Ndrangheta, despite recently being transferred from Catanzaro to Naples.
The man, Salvo Gregorio Mirarchi, was arrested by the Salerno and Catanzaro flying squads on charges of threatening a public official, aggravated by using mafia methods.
Mirarchi also allegedly threatened a deputy prosecutor from Salerno whose identity has not been disclosed.
He is accused of being the author of a letter containing death threats against both prosecutors.
‘Ndrangheta controls much of the European cocaine trade.
