Meloni says 'Italy up to the task' of hosting G7
Italy has a “big responsibility” in hosting next year’s G7 summit and it will be up to the task, said Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni after the meeting of the world’s largest so-called ‘advanced’ economies in Hiroshima, Japan, on Sunday.

The summit will be held in the southern Puglia region, she added.
“Next year it will be Italy’s turn to host the G7, and we will do it in Puglia, a region that is symbolic of the meeting between West and East,” wrote Meloni on social media.
“It is a great responsibility for Italy, but we will be up to the task,” she added, posting a series of images from the G7 in Japan.
