Annie Ernaux, the French writer who has won the 2022 Nobel Prize for Literature, will be coming to Italy this month to take part in film festivals in both Rome and Bologna.

The 82-year-old author will be at the Rome Film Fest on October 22 for the Italian premiere of her documentary Les Annees Super-8, featuring home videos shot with her husband.

The documentary got a warm reception in the Quinzaine des Realisateurs selection at Cannes.

“Congratulations to #AnnieErnaux Premio, Nobel Literature Prize-winner 2022!” the Rome Film Fest said via Twitter.

“We await you on October 22 at #RoFF17, together with your son David Ernaux-Briot, for the premiere of the documentary Les Années Super-8, presented in the Proiezioni Speciali section.”

Ernaux will also take part in the Home Movies event organized by the Archivio Nazionale del Film di Famiglia (National Archive of Family Films) in Bologna from October 20-24.

On October 25 she will have a meeting with the public at Bologna’s Biblioteca Salaborsa.
