The requests were for 10 mostly former BR members who had taken refuge in France.

"This is a disgrace that has no legal basis," said Roberto Della Rocca.

"My association and I appeal to Minister Nordio for the Italian justice system to intervene,” he said.

“And I ask France: what if the same thing had happened in reverse with the Bataclan victims?"

Meanwhile, the son of a victim of Italy's deadly 'Years of Lead' on Tuesday described France’s Supreme Court judges as “wretches”.

"What is my reaction?” asked Adriano Sabbadin, son of Lino, the butcher killed by Cesare Battisti's Armed Proletarians in the Veneto region in 1979.

“They are wretches, because there is no justice like this! However, it's a decision we expected from France."

"The judges must then tell us who the culprits are. These people have deaths on their consciences."
