With possession roughly equal, Ascoli created eight chances to Sudtirol’s miserly two. However, the visitors were clinical and put away both of their opportunities.

Fabien Tait put Sudtirol ahead just before half time when he tapped home Simone Davi’s cutback.

Eleven minutes after the break, Tait cancelled out his earlier work with an own goal. Sudtirol keeper Giacomo Poluzzi saved a shot from Simone D’Uffizi, but the rebound went straight into the backtracking Tait who couldn’t get out of the way as the ball hit his body and went in.

In the 78th minute, Andrea Masiello scored what proved to be the winner from a tight angle after a nice one-two just outside the box with teammate Daniele Casiraghi that allowed him to charge through on goal.

Sudtirol sit in 14th, while Ascoli are five points behind in 16th.
