The couple’s 16-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter were beaten with a broom and whipped with electrical cords after they received poor marks at their school in Pavia.

The children reported their own parents to the police after receiving these beatings, which occurred three years ago.

The lawyers representing the children argued that their grades were above average, just not high enough to satisfy their parents.

The court decreed that the children be taken from their parents and placed in a home.

The parents – who were first accused of domestic violence – were charged and convicted with abusing measures of correction.

They were also given a suspended sentence of four months in prison.

It has been announced that the couple plans to appeal the court’s decision.
