It was Parma who sent the first warning shot from a corner when Stanko Juric headed just over the bar.
Palermo’s Segre was put through on goal by Tutino but the shot was blasted wide.
The breakthrough for Parma came in the 32nd minute when Benedyczak got on the end of a Zanimacchia cross and side-footed it in.
Just nine minutes later, Soleri equalised for Palermo after the ball was given cheaply to him by Valenti.
Soleri took Valenti on and tried to square a pass to his teammate, but the shot was blocked and the ball fell back to Valenti who was able to finish what he started.
Parma took back the lead in the 77th minute when Franco Vazquez’s shot was parried by the Pigliacelli directly into the path of a grateful Coulibaly, who had an easy finish.
The win has lifted Parma over Palermo and into seventh place.
Palermo are just outside the playoff zone.
