The visitors went ahead in the seventh minute when Ange Bonny bullied his defender out of the way before nutmegging the goalkeeper with his finish.
Adrian Benedyczak made it 2-0 when he scored a penalty awarded for a foul on Bonny in the 19th minute.
Antonio Raimondo had the chance to get one back for Ternana with a penalty of his own, however blasted his spot kick high and wide.
Gregorio Luperini got one back for Ternana just after half time with a tap in after Parma keeper Leandro Chichizola didn’t deal with a ball whipped into the box, instead pushing it right into the feet of the oncoming midfielder.
Sealing the match for Parma was Ternana’s Tiago Casasola, who scored an own goal in the 59th minute.
Parma are six points clear of second-placed Cremonese. Ternana are in the relegation playoff zone.
