The National Anti-Doping Tribunal (TNA) handed down the ban on the Frenchman, who turns 31 next month, after he tested positive for “testosterone not of endogenous origin” regarding a sample he gave after Juve’s opening game of the Serie A season away to Udinese.
“I was informed today of the decision of the National Anti-Doping Tribunal and I believe that the verdict is wrong,” he said via social media.
“I am sad, shocked and heartbroken, because everything I have built in my career as a professional player has been taken away from me,” the former Manchester United player added on Instagram.
“When I am free from legal restrictions the whole story will become clear, but I have never knowingly or deliberately taken any supplement that violates anti-doping rules.”
