Possession was roughly equal as Sudtirol created nine chances to Venezia’s ten.

Finland International Joel Pohjanpalo opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a first-time volley on his left foot that probably should have been dealt with by Sudtirol keeper Giacomo Poluzzi. Nonetheless, it was a great cross to find him by Francesco Zampano.

Venezia didn’t double their lead until the 81st minute as Zampano went from goal maker to goal scorer, this time thanks to some great work by Mikael Ellertsson.

Ellertson took possession thanks to a poor pass in the front third by Sudtirol before running three quarters of the pitch and squaring the ball to Zampano, who had run with him the entire way. Zampano was left with an empty net to tap into.

Pohjanpalo sealed the points in added time thanks to a one-two that was the length of half the pitch. The Finland international played the ball to Nicholas Pierini who ran from inside his own half into the Sudtirol box before squaring a ball back to the ever-running Pohjanpalo, who finished it first time.

Venezia sit fourth, seven points behind leaders Parma.

Sudtirol are 14th, five points clear of the drop zone.
