Pope Francis on Friday told Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone that “we grew up with your films” as he received the Rocky and Rambo legend in a private audience in the Vatican.

Francis said it was an honour to meet the 77-year-old actor and director, who is in Italy to receive the honorary citizenship of his family’s old home of Gioa del Colle in Puglia.
“We grew up with your films,” said the 86-year-old Argentine pontiff - at which Stallone said, “let’s box” and the two men both mimed sparring moves.
Stallone was in the Vatican with his wife, three daughters and brother and musician Frank.
