Probe into illegal spying of politicians and VIPs in Perugia
Perugia Chief Prosecutor Raffaele Cantone said on Thursday that his office was probing allegations of illegal spying on politicians and other high-profile figures following a complaint filed by Defence Minister Guido Crosetto.

The investigation regards alleged illegal access to databases by a finance police officer while working for the national anti-mafia directorate.
Cantone said several people had been questioned in relation to the investigation and a considerable amount of documentation examined.
According to media reports, Crosetto filed the complaint after he noticed information about him had become public.
