ADR and the company that runs the duty-free shop, Aelia, sent their apologies to the young woman saying they were “very sorry and mortified” over the episode at Fiumicino.

They added they would be considering disciplinary action against the sales staff involved.

The woman said, “I would only like to have an apology from that lady [who refused to sell the water], not from ADR or the shop, and neither from Italians who are not at all to blame.”

The Russian woman teaches Russian in Italy.
