The PD is the largest opposition party.
Earlier Schlein said the PD was “always willing to build an alternative to the right with the other forces,” referring to the leftwing populist 5-Star Movement (M5S) and centrist parties.
She said this “spirit” contrasted with that of Meloni and her allies, who were allegedly fighting a “derby” for votes among themselves ahead of next year’s European Parliament elections.
