The victory also puts the Azzurri’s Euro 2024 qualifying campaign back on track after last week’s disappointing 1-1 draw in North Macedonia.
Italy are now second in Group C with seven points from four games, six behind leaders England, who have played five qualifiers.
Ukraine and North Macedonia are also on seven points, but they have both played one match more than Italy.
The top two in the group qualify for next year’s Euro 2024 finals in Germany.
“It seems like I’m in Paradise, surrounded by the Azzurri,” Spalletti said after the match.
“The team played some good football and controlled the game well.
“They had two chances in the first half and two breakaways in the second. I liked what I saw from my players, but we needed to find more quality to get the third and fourth goal.
“Now we can work more with more calmness (thanks to the win)”.
