The Neighbourhood Feast will showcase all this and more, with a fantastic range of culinary delights on offer.
Italian fare will be proudly served up by Andiamo Trattoria, where you can also enjoy wine and a spritz bar, as well as Da Vinci’s, where you can feast on la pasta della nonna (nonna’s homemade pasta) and a massive range of fresh pizzas featuring fior di latte mozzarella.
Other eats include Vietnamese by Saigon Summer, fresh fruit and vegetables and Turkish delight by the Summer Hill Fruit Shop, Thai fare by Thai Garn Restaurant and pulled pork sandwiches from the Two Fat Butchers.
This year’s main stage entertainment is curated by The Rio, featuring grand bands as well as the famed Pizza Eating Competition at 12:30 pm.
The Rio was an old milk bar which has been transformed into a much loved bar, run by owner and local legend Tess Robens.
The bar retains much of the charm of the original milk bar, including the 1950s signage.
Art Gallery and retail shop Sweets Workshop has also curated a space in this year’s festival, where people can sit, make, learn and have fun.
It’s called the Creative Village.
The village will feature an all day colouring-in workshop for the kids, make your own superhero and funny food faces workshops, plus artist talks from local creatives.
The Summer Hill Neighbourhood Feast is on Sunday, September 29 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, on Lackey and Smith Streets in Summer Hill.
