Influencer and multi-hyphenate entrepreneur Chiara Ferragni has revealed to her millions of social media followers, that the patch she has been wearing on her arm is the result of the removal of a mole, following a preventive examination that she undergoes cyclically, taking the opportunity to talk about the importance of undergoing preventive examinations.
Since the end of November, many have noticed that Chiara has been wearing a rather conspicuous patch on her left arm, yet even though many people asked her about it in her comments section, she didn't address the bandage immediately.
Yesterday, however, she revealed its purpose:
“Since I have the results, I can tell you about it.”
“Every six months, I do a mole check, because unfortunately, I'm familiar with melanomas,” Ferragni explained on Tiktok, mentioning prior cases that have prompted her to engage in preventative measures.
“During a recent check-up, it turned out that a mole I had on my arm had changed colour slightly, so the doctors decided to remove it. Fortunately, the histological result came back and everything was okay... but it had to be removed because it could have turned into a melanoma.”
Chiara then encouraged everyone to undergo check-ups to avoid any risk:
“They are among the worst cancers, but by getting checked often, they are the easiest to find and keep under control.”
With 28 million followers on Instagram alone, many commended Ferragni for shedding light on the importance of skin cancer prevention, which can never be over emphasised.
