Anglicare’s Newmarch House, near Penrith in Sydney’s west, made the sad announcement this afternoon, saying the man had tested positive for coronavirus.
It said the man had “no immediate family” but was “well cared for” by Anglicare staff.
The latest death comes after news Newmarch House aged care staff members will now take daily coronavirus tests in an attempt to manage the outbreak at the facility.
There are now 63 infections linked to the home, including 26 staff members and 37 residents.
Family members of vulnerable and elderly residents have grown increasingly agitated, citing lack of communication from Newmarch House operators and other health risk concerns.
