It was the home team that hit the back of the net first as Cuba scored a great goal from outside the box in the 9th minute following a corner to put The Avengers up 1-0.
Port Melbourne hit back immediately in the 11th minute to make it 1-1.
Brice scored for the home side to take the lead again in the 27th minute to make it 2-1, and the score stayed that way until the break.
In the second half it was Ott, fresh off scoring twice against South Melbourne, who scored Avondale’s third.
A second yellow card for Port Melbourne in the 70th minute made it hard for the visitors, and Cuba made it near impossible in the 77th minute when he bagged his brace.
Kur scored in the 90th minute to complete the 5-1 win.
The senior women played at home on Mother’s Day against Fawkner SC looking to maintain their perfect record.
At half time The Avengers led 4-2 and grew their lead in the second half with the end score being 7-3.
The win keeps the women equal top of the table, with a big clash at home this Sunday against 3rd.
